Wood Plane-
Offered is a 26" long wood Jointer plane marked on toe "A. Meier & Co., St. Louis, MO."  Marking rates a one star for rarity, Circa l838-1872.  2 1/2" wide cutter marked "Ohio Tool Co., Cast Steel Warranted".  A very heavy cutter with a well done cutting edge that is sharp with the smallest on nits.  Wood body is clean with use marks.  Sole has a throat repair insert & a 7" long check extending back from throat.  Sole & wedge are good with minor chipping on tote top.  Tote has a little wiggle in body with a tight crack at front. A nice clean well preserved Jointer ready to use or show, about as long as they come & hard to find. I would give this a tool condition rating of Exc.
