Unusual Custom Chocolate Chip Camo (US 6-Color Desert) Shorts, size "Medium"

Description

Up for grabs is a unique pair of what appears to be custom "US 6 - color desert" AKA "chocolate chip camouflage" shorts, in size "medium". These appear to be made out of authentic USGI NYCO (Nylon Cotton) fabric, perhaps out of a pack cover, as the feel of the fabric and the waistband elastic are very similar to those found on pack covers. The shorts were apparrently made by a company called "Besb Industries of Conn." I have been unable to find any additional info on the company, or any other shorts similar to this one.
Chocolate Chip camo was the United States' first purpose-designed desert Camoflauge, made to mimic soil color variances and rocks commonly found in the American Southwest. The pattern was, as far as I can tell, officially produced from 1981 to 1991 for government purposes. It famously was seen on a large scale during Operation Desert Storm. The patterns seen on this pair of shorts seems to closely match items produced from 1990 to 1991.
These shorts are of an extremely simple design, featuring an elastic waist band, drawstring, and a single open pocket on the left side of the seat. They do not feature a fly, gusset, reinforced crotch or seat, or any front pockets. Aside from the tag shown, I am unable to find any other tags or markings.

- From one side of the waistband to the other when not stretched at all is 10" meaning a minimum waist size of 20"
-Maximum waist measurement when fully stretched one side to the other: ~20" meaning it could theoretically accommodate a waist size of 40" if fully stretched. However, I feel these would be far more comfortable for a 34" waist or so. I'm a 36" and they are a bit tight for my liking.
- Bottom of leg openings are roughly 10 3/4" wide.
- top of garment to bottom of leg is about 17 1/2"
Condition is excellent, like new condition. I am unable to locate any damage or wear. As far as I can tell, all parts appear to be present and functional. I'm unable to locate any holes, rips, repairs, popped seams, stains, or color fading. I cannot claim for sure this has never been worn, hence the 'used' label,  but it certainly doesn't look like it ever was.
